brain dump of thoughts and ideas to move elswhere once developed
- IDEA: FaithTrax (tracts) = QR code for gospel tracts, LeadershipTrax = QR code to guide people to leadership inspiration and resources, LifeTrax = QR code to life lessons and bettering your career and journey
- Something like codeproject where people learn to code by doing projects... some of their projects can be solutions for small businesses in Machakos, Kenya
- Determine the difference between “Team Tasks” and “Task List” (which were both part of the template)
- Need to find someone talented with notion.so and get them to clean-up.improve this workspace. (maybe train someone in Machakos to manage this?)
- Nascar model - professional talented drivers - did not make the car. Did not solicit the advertisers and put decals on the car. Did not assemble the race. But are great at driving. People love to watch. Entire industry built around them. We need to breed excellent “business” drivers. CEOs… they don’t build the business, or do all the business activity… but are really good at driving the business to win!
- Motorcycle model - balance between extremes - advice to two different business owners may seem contradictory, because one may be leaning too far left and the other too far right. Fast pace in right direction = balanced and focused on hedge hog concept. (Spinning wheels in mud… wheels need to spin, but on concrete)
- First get the right people on the bus. Page 41 of Good to Great. Paraphrase the concept and refer to the book.key concept
- Several places in Good to Great it says “and then you won’t have to motivate the team because they will be self motivated”. Also not needed to be tightly managed. Key concept spread throughout the book. Example on page 42. P 56
- Always looking for great people. Page 55 (while other companies were advertising to customers)
- Ted - new idea to have store owner send pictures of products BEFORE they get them to put on shelves - customers vote yes or no - owner only buys things people like - alert customers when the product is put on the shelf
- New idea - have store owners build an audience in each region (clustered around open-air markets). They send pics of products to locals who then indicate which items they would like to buy. Maybe some customers send text to business owner for certain products they are looking for. Business owner gathers those products and a few other “popluar” items and visits the open-air market on a specific day. Customers are notified and come on that specific day to buy the products they already indicated that they want. (not necessarily “reserved”… just targeted to the audience)
- Rich Dad, Poor Dad got it wrong. Good to Great research shows that you need both the shrewedness AND the disciplined work ethic. Wise as serpants, harmless as doves. (But it is good to look for opportunity and not just work hard at the wrong thing that won’t lead to long-term success. Also need to understand the mentality of most other businesses.)
- Create ultra short key-point videos/doodles/blogs with links to other sources for expanded learning.
- u0 training - videos, doodles, blogs, workbooks, etc. People have to qualify to have full access? Some of it free? Take personal notes... boil down to 3 key points that will make biggest impact in their business/career. Other people use array of vidoes, blogs, etc to assemble a cirriculuum (with some open spaces for ‘electives’). Like a learn-at-your-own-pace college program. With certifications. 360 degree Feedback can verify skills.
- Levels of award. Levels of qualifications.
- Include Women in leadership training and CEO/business leadership. Include people with physical or intellectual challenges. (maybe not kids... trying to avoid child labor problems in the world)
- FUTURE: special Kids-for-causes program to help kids learn to be future leaders. Lemonade Stand for Kids. Learning. Levels of training/qualifications.
- Have others help with social media campaign. Maybe they do so to promote their own business/site/ideas/etc
- “Do you have what it takes?” campaign - search for CEOs and Entrepreneurs. Levels of qualifications. (same for other jobs - do you have what it takes to be a store manager? a computer repair tech? a seemstress?)
